My wife is from Taiwan and their story is similar. It's common practice for a vast majority of citizens to wear
masks in public every flu season. They treated the pandemic the same way. The hospitals like Mexico were
never overrun. There were no large organized protests about mask mandates. People died of course, but it
was nowhere close to the % of the population of the U.S.
The Ms. coast has a large community of Vietnamese Americans. According to the stats they were the least
affected ethnic group during the pandemic. The main reason was Vietnam like Taiwan Have the same
practices during regular flu season.
