Jon Gruden as replacement OC?

You seem to have taken this personally in a way it wasn't intended. I'm not debating semantics, I was seeking clarification.

You said: "I don't think Pete is here for long anyway. He will soon retire, he loves New Orleans and wants to stay here, with a less pressured job."

There was the appearance of a familiarity to the subject and to Carmichael's interests and intentions that could infer some source of knowledge, so I asked. I already explained why I had asked but realize now that my asking must have really annoyed you.

I'm not sure how you think that compares to my saying: "My hope is that Carmichael gets it going because if he does, that could alleviate an offensive coaching carousel that other defensive head coaches have to deal with."
Perhaps I read the post incorrectly. We are ok, I was mistaken.

I am happy to share my thoughts on the subject though. All speculation on my part. I would place a 80% chance Pete will move on next yr for a variety of reasons. He is married to a La gal, and really loves New Orleans, but from the actions in the past, like not interviewing for HC jobs, as 3 teams were willing to sit down and interview him.

He said he wanted no consideration for the Saints HCing job. Then kind of ducked the OC job. I think he is here this year to support DA, till he can find a friendly face among the NFLs staff change overs for our new OC. Pete has been here 14yrs. I would not be surprised if he took a job in the Saints front office, so he could spend more time with his family.
