I think he would’ve waited until the last week of preseason or after preseason altogether before contacting teams if he’s avoiding TC. He’d need camp to get acclimated especially if he wants a big role or become a starter this late in personnel installs.

Not really we have seen over the years guys signing very late and playing starter snaps. He may have started looking around now to get an idea of what he is worth, see how many teams are interested then taking his time to choose for the reason of avoiding camp and if by some chance an injury to a starter that plays his spot happens then his value goes up
