I'm from Mississippi. They sent out regs for hot weather this year. If it is over a certain temp teachers aren't allowed to take kids outside and coaches/band directors can't have outdoor practice. Ocean Springs High school had 5 am practice this morning to beat the heat per the news.
I have it on good authority that OS Band may not be quite as stringent on the guidelines as most bands on the coast, or at least weren’t as of a couple weeks ago. 👀
