I don’t think you’re giving Brees enough credit for his arm, in his prime it was way better than what I saw from Haener yesterday. Haener has to load up before he throws, Carr and Brees just let it rip.

Watch Carr next game on a good throw, he doesn’t even need to move his feet to throw a better ball. Haener has to pick up his lead foot and step into the throw to drive it, significantly slowing down his release while still having less power than Carr. It will also limit his ability to make those throws under pressure, while Carr or prime Brees could still throw a bullet in a crowded pocket.

Haener’s fast balls tend to have a higher trajectory as well, which is a tell tale for slower speed.
