Dennis Allen chewing out Isaiah Foskey

A few thoughts:

1. The draft was solid in certain areas but weak overall. We forced the pick at DE when I think IOL or TE might have been a better play, especially with O’Cyrus Torrence and Luke Musgrave available. Brian Branch also was available. Point is, we could have taken a BPA approach. But we saw Foskey as filling a need. Hopefully in the long run that’ll prove to be a good move.

2. Foskey has struggles. He looks lost at times and his football instincts appear questionable at best. That being said, I am convinced he’s doing “too much thinking” out there. I think a lot of what we are seeing is a result of him playing the scheme in his mind rather than the game on the field. He’ll have to sit and learn, and next year I think we will see improvement.

3. Finally, all is not lost. I saw Foskey give a good pass rush where he blew pass the LT and almost sacked Stick. Stick felt the pressure and scrambled out of it. Point is, we see a lot of disappointing play. But when I saw that play it made me think this is prospect who has to be given time to learn before we declare him to be a total lost cause.
