The storm changed speed and it's path kept veering from the consensus of the models late Friday through Saturday as it grew closer to Los Angeles. That's why it was less damaging than forecast for Los Angeles county. So with this statement, it seems you're confirming that it was okay to continue with going ahead and play the game. The league and stadium personnel checked with the NWS, radar, and updated projections and determined it was low risk because the storm was severely weakened and rain projections were 1-2 inches. Especially considering that few people were going to turn out anyway given it was a preseason game combined with the rainy weather. We've seen much worse with El Nino storms and santa Ana winds.
