Nick Underhill’s concern with Saints O-Line might be “heightened”

Trevor is very vulnerable to the quick inside move, Carl was beating him last year. I'm pulling for the guy, and I think he will work out. But, it begs the question "why draft a run blocking LT from a small school, and expect him to start right away?" As much as we invest in the passing game around hear, pass blocking would have been tops on my list when drafting a LT.
I agree, n actually felt the same way after we drafted him n read da scouting reports. But I gotta believe the Saints read those reports, n did their own research n scouting on him ( probably interviewed him too!), n knew what his weaknesses were, mainly his hand usage n footwork in pass pro. The question then was, can he “be coached up”n improve on his technique? Obviously, they felt he could. Meanwhile they had Hurst, who was already penciled in at LT1, so they probably felt they had some time to groom n develop TP.

He struggled as expected last year, but IMO, his injuries REALLY set his development back. Then he lost lotsa valuable practice time during the offseason while rehabbing n recovering. Hell, I wasn’t even sure if he’d be 💯 for TC!

In a way, he’s still a “rookie”, so he still has lotsa work to do. But he’s healthy now, n probably more “comfortable” in the system n knows what he needs to work on. But surprisingly the Saints plugged him in at LT1 over Hurst early in TC! And he’s also probably gotten more reps than ANYBODY on the O line!

So Coaches were like, “Throw him in the deep end, n see if he can swim!” 😂

So far, he’s been keeping his head above the water, but its gonna take more than that when protecting your 150M QBs blindside!

So Trev better start leaning to SWIM!!!

😂🤬😂
