Saints VP Ball leaves to join Packers

METAIRIE — Russ Ball, the vice president of football administration for the New Orleans Saints since 2002, is leaving the team to take a job in the front office of the Green Bay Packers.

Ball has been hired by the Packers to be their vice president of football administration and player finance with an opportunity to become the franchise’s primary contract negotiator.

“This is a promotion for Russ, and we’ve always taken the approach that we are supportive when our people have an opportunity to better themselves,” Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis said in a statement announcing Ball’s departure. Full Story – Advocate
