I don't think this true anymore
Air bed technology had made great strides since the 80s and 90s - Aerobeds are great
But back then this was the absolute truth
and you had to decide between the crappy blow up mattress or or the pull out sofa bed with the one inch mattress and that bad right in the middle of your back
