Most hated teams

1. Niners. Saints were pretty much the second best team in the NFC for years and also the second best team in the NFC West for years. If the Saints had been in the AFC during those years, we would have made it to multiple Super Bowls. The Saints dominated the AFC, but the Niners just had our number. (I was at many of the games in the 1980's and early 90's, PLUS, I was at the Divisional Round Game in Candlestick where we would not cover Vernon Davis. That cost the Saints a second Super Bowl Win.)

2. Falcons. A close second because they kind of were the equal of New Orleans as a city in the late 1960's and then the two cities just went 180 degrees after that. Their "fans" are obnoxious, they won some "big games" in the 1970's when both teams were pathetic and Matty "skid mark" Ice got an MVP and Drew Brees didn't. (Return to the Dome after Katrina was the loudest the Dome has ever been. Yes, at that game also.)

3. Rams. This was a close call with #4 because both "fan bases" are obnoxious and whiny. Rams have hosed us late in the season multiple times by laying down and getting other teams into the playoffs. December 18th 1983, Rams 26 Saints 24, Mike Lansford kicked a 42 yard FG to win the game (that was considered a long FG back then) and the Saints finished 8-8 and the rams 9-7. Would have been the first winning season in Saints history. (I was at the game.) The NFC Wildcard Game, with Hakim Drops the Ball, Saints first playoff win. (I was at the game.) The "No-Call" cheat game. (I was at the game.)

4. Vikings. Close call with the Rams. The 1987 spanking they gave us in our first playoff game and the CONSTANT WHINING about the NFC Championship Game which cost us our coach for a year. The fact that they have lost FOUR Super Bowls is somehow lost on their fans. They could have made it FIVE losses instead. (I was at the 1987 game, and the January 6, 2001 game, which was our first game after a playoff win, and I was at the NFC Championship Game.)

5. Cowboys. Just because they get so much press coverage. Setting the First Down record against them was great. (Yeah, I was at that game also.)

6. Panthers. They are just annoying. Their fans beat out the Falcons "fans" as the cheapest fans in the NFL.

Everybody else after that. Honorable mention to the Bears because their fans are THE MOST OBNOXIOUS FANS I have ever been around. (Yeah, I was at the NFC Championship Game in Chicago also.) Eagles get a shout out also. They finally won a Super Bowl and I missed the Parade by one day. We lived in Philly at the time. I would have gone to the parade just for the beer. (BTW, the Philadelphia Mummers Parade is just SO LAME compared to Mardi Gras. What a joke.)
