Bobby Hebert: The Next Few Games Will Determine Jameis Winston's Future And His Future Pay

Yeah...our O line is magically not be the problem next week.

Case in point:
Tragic case of when you are in too deep...lol. I honestly would like to know what good O-line he played behind because when he left, the Bucs did something they never did his entire time there; drafted an O-lineman in the 1st round...lol. He then gets to start here and an O-lineman seemingly gets injured every 3 games. Then get's his back broke behind an O-line where he got the blame for their performance. These are things you can't make up.

JW has had some of his best games as a Saint, behind this oline in previous seasons, is to get yardage with his legs when it breaks down

he had a chance last week and didnt do so

not saying that will be what will win games throughout the season but in the role as backup to get wins while starter is out he may need to do so

im not really familiar with Carr's game as i only watch the Saints but that maybe, with the issues we are having, may make JW more successful than Carr

though if AK can bring the screen game into the offense that would help alot
You bring up good points. Casual onlookers don't realize how many first downs he got with his feet in 2021 and these weren't designed runs. This should have let people know then and there that we had an O-line problem. Just pulled some quick dirty numbers and in 14 games (240 attempts), Kamara rushed for 42 1st downs; 12 games (70 attempts), Taysom rushed for 26 1st downs; 7 games (32 attempts), Winston rushed for 17 1st downs.

Wow, a real Captain Obvious takes Bobby. Ya think.....?
Obvious? Somewhat...Baker Mayfield led teams went 2-8 last season, with him completing 60% of his passes, throwing 10TD-8INT with a 79 passer rating and this season got signed to a team with a legitimate opportunity to start. Some things just work differently for others.
