Is Dak Prescott the New Andy Dalton

Dalton was healthier than Dak in the first seven seasons and Dalton played in and started 109 games to Dak's 97. Dalton has 12 more games than Prescott did through their first seven season, and yet...

Dalton passed for just 591 more yards. 25,534 vs 24,943.

Dalton passed for just 1 more touchdown. 167 vs 166.

Dalton passed for 28 more interceptions . 93 vs 65.

Dalton averaged 0.85 interceptions per game to Dak's 0.67.

Dalton's 62.45 completion percentage is less than Dak's 66.64 completion percentage.

Dalton has 20 game winning drives to Dak's 19 game winning drives.

Dalton averaged 32.62 passing attempts per game to Dak's 33.84 passing attempts per game.

The only real edge you can give Dalton is his health, which is important.

Dak is grossly overrated, but statistically he is clearly a step up from Dalton.

Dalton's not even a game manager anymore, because game managers win when the defense holds the other team to ten points.
Good statistical breakdown. My gut reaction even before seeing them is that Dak is/was a hair better than Dalton. Having said that, Dak's career started about 5 years after Dalton's did, and as much as the cowpies routinely underwhelm, they have been a decidedly better organization than the Bengals have been until the last few years under Burrow.

At the end of the day, it's not a horrible comparison until Dak does something in the postseason.
