Going 1-4 over the previous 5 weeks isn't enough evidence for some sort of coaching change?

The players seem to be defending their play caller, so I don’t think canning him is the right move.

MT after the Texans game:

And then MT this week more or less threw the QB under the bus when he said he didn’t go through his progression on that play where he threw it to the beer man in the stands.

I doubt any changes get made, but firing someone who has everyone’s support doesn’t seem like a way to put accountability where it belongs.
Deuce did a video on that play. Assuming Hill was read 1 and Thomas read 2, both of those were open. Yeah, Olave didn't do the best clear out but his route did what it was supposed to do. Throwing it in Olave's direction shouldn't have even been an option.

Same video he showed another play where Olave was wide open for what should have been a TD, but Carr checked it down to AK.

I'm not defending the play calling as a whole, but there were plays that would have been effective but for execution.

That said, I don't put too much stock in players defending coaches publicly. They aren't going to criticize their coaching to the media, even if they hold criticism.
