We could’ve used help in a handful of positions. Look at the talent in that 2nd rd. Yet we chose a guy who got Drew killed. So many of these dudes were NFL ready. You didn’t need to meet with them in person and have workouts with them. Their game film was good enough. Especially if that is all the teams had to go by
Only a small fraction of those players (on your screenshots you posted) are actual legit difference-makers. The rest of them are more or less just “guys.”

I’ll be honest, I didn’t love the Ruiz pick at the time. But he was universally considered a first round talent. And knowing Payton’s philosophy on investing high picks on interior O-Linemen, it made sense.
