Only a fraction of those players (on your screenshots you posted) are actual legit difference-makers. The rest of them are more or less just “guys.”

I’ll be honest, I didn’t love the Ruiz pick at the time. But he was universally considered a first round talent. And knowing Payton’s philosophy on investing high picks on interior O-Linemen, it made sense.

You can SMH, all you want, but it doesn’t absolve the fact that rd 2 consisted (who are now) of one of the best QBs, one of the best RBs, one of the best CBs, and two picks ahead of us is one of the best WRs. Where’s that let’s trade up mantra? You may think that some of the other players are just “guys”, but you are wrong. A good number of those guys would’ve been staters on our team. The same as Ruiz, so that makes Ruiz, just a guy, who in turn took longer to progress. So…..SMH
