Israel (now broader Mid East discussion)

An interesting thing that I heard this morning while listening to a Harvard lecturer (who was being interviewed on Bloomberg) was, who is the United States to make recommendations, or dictate policy to Palestine or anyone? Seeing what is happening right now in Washington, how can we expect anyone to take us seriously.

I laughed about “who is this guy?” But then the more I thought about it I could see his point.

As dysfunctional as our government is at the moment, it is still operating within the basic set of rules laid down in the late 18th century. There is a reason so many foreigners park their spare billions in US real estate and other holdings.

Now, you did say he was from Harvard, where a large portion of the student body and faculty support Hamas' attack on Israeli citizens, so, we certainly have room for improvement.
