For one, the protection was the best it has been all season. It was the first game where Carr was under pressure less than 20% of his dropbacks. We also didn't ask him to put the team on his back at any point, he only threw 27 passes.
The Colts game was a great version of the kind of game I thought Carr was brought here to play. Do everything Dalton can do in the short-intermediate range, but take advantage of the deep opportunities that Dalton missed with his arm and/or eyes. In past games Carr was throwing up prayers, this week every shot he took had a chance.
He also only threw one deep pass on third and six or less versus four last week, he took what the defense was giving him to move the chains.
