Israel (now broader Mid East discussion)

I don't agree with what Bibi is doing, but to call it genocide is to misuse the term. Let's not exaggerate here.

I don't think there's a deliberate attempt at exaggeration. Feel free to educate me.

This is war and in wars innocent people die. That doesn't make it genocide.

Once again, a dangerous view IMO. Mass civilian killings of a mistreated ethnic group under the fog of 'war'.
Now could it become genocide?

Is it closer than you think?
UN - Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide
Article II
In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with
intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as
such:
(a) Killing members of the group;
(b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
(c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its
physical destruction in whole or in part;
(d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
(e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.

Possibly, but it's not at that point, and I don't think it will. Israel, whether you believe them or not, has already stated unequivocally that they have no interest in Gaza, and expect Palestinians from Gaza to return after they eliminate Hamas. That's not genocide.

I don't believe that, no. And considering what's been occurring for decades, why would Palestinians?
