Peat did struggle a bit, but part of it was that he couldn’t join the team until Stanford’s academic term ended so he was behind on days/reps and conditioning. Strief, meanwhile, was a second team all-pro RT in 2013 (and should have been again in 2014) but knew Peat would take his job eventually. As it went, 2015 was very hard on Strief, and logically it would have been a good time to move Strief to OL6, Peat to RT, and invest in the interior OL, but that wasn’t how the plan went. Strief was kept for another season and Peat remained at LG while the team had a rare draft in which no OL were selected.
