Carr and completed air yards—a few plays from the Bears game

Calls where the receivers in the exact same location, better play calling on 3rd down, better play calling in the red zone, etc.

The evaluation criteria for better play calling is “better play calling”?????????

Vs Hou. Last series. 24 yd to goal. 1st & 10. PC called the cover 2 zone beater and the D played cover 2 zone.

Taysom & CGM conflict the safety, Olave is man. But Olave ran the stick instead of the pylon. Regardless, Taysom was open. But Carr threw it to the back pylon for Olave (either threw it away or threw it to a spot for Olave to run under).

2nd & 10. D called single high man. Carr went back shoulder to CGM but didn’t connect. This similar play resulted in a Carr - CGM TD against the Jag. With this one, the OL lost badly and there were 4 Texans in Carr face at the end of his drop back.

3rd & 10. D was single high man. The safety crash down when Taysom stay back to block. Shaheed beat his man and the safety had already ran 30 yd to the LOS; Eg no safety help. Should be a TD. But Carr threw to the right pylon instead of toward the back of the end zone. Don’t know whose mistake that was. Was Shaheed suppose to run to his right and he didn’t or Shaheed ran his route to the end of the end zone and Carr missed.

4th & 10. 4 vert vs single high man blitz. Taysom beat his man even with a stumble. But the OL did not pick up the blitz. So Carr went to his safety blanket CGM. The ‘19 CGM would had gone down with the ball. Unfortunately, the ‘23 CGM did not. If the blitz was picked up, the safety is conflicted. He can help against Taysom, who cut underneath his defender is is open. If the safety does that, Shaheed would cut in under his defender and be open. If the safety stay back, Taysom will be open.

Are you evaluating the play calling based in failed execution?
