A microcosm of Winston’s career
Oh, that post wasn't pointed towards you at all. You've been more pragmatic than ever this week. This coaching staff has to go. Jameis shouldn't even have playcalls coming in with go routes on that last drive. Not when you're within one score and Alvin's averaging 5ypc and the Vikes' defense was all set for pass defense.
Actually the one thing you mention there I do think is really upsetting, the fact that we were ripping off runs and stopped doing it completely. Zero balance to help throw the D off.
This was my thing as well, as I've said this earlier. Down by a single score, we should have went to a balanced attack. We had plenty of time to do so and all of the "heavy lifting" was done to get us back in the game. And the sad this is the Vikings were expecting pass on all of those plays. We needed more Kamara when it got to 8 points; Sneaky Pete kept calling pass plays.
Simple fact remains, you can't give credit solely to one player for generating 16 points, but then simultaneously excuse all the blame being put on that one player for generating 0 points in the same breath.
I know football is about more than one player or coach, as should everyone else. Stop trying to make everything binary, people.
Thing is, I got smoke for everybody:
-Jameis should have taken the check down on that last interception. Yeah, he slipped but we had plenty of time and we didn't need a kill shot. I'm not tripping about that first interception as Kamara totally missed that block and it was basically an arm punt because I would have thrown it out of bounds. lol
-Sneaky Pete for horrible play calling when we got to a single score. We should have been more balanced.
-Defense for letting Dobbs and Hockenson go crazy in that first half
-Carr for being lethargic for 2 1/2 quarters of football.
Yesterday was a complete team loss and truth be told, if folks are unbiased, they would look at the Packers as a total team loss. '
-Winston had a few plays that could have been better (that screen to JJ was ugh...lol). He actually played better than yall are actually giving him credit for though.
-Sneaky Pete/DA for going full on conservative mode when Carr went down.
-Defense for letting Jordan Love look like Randall Cunningham (and DD whiffing on that goal line tackle)
-One of those WRs for running the wrong route on that last drive..lol
-Grupe for missing the FG to give us the lead
Question is, where did YOUR blame go for this game and the Packers? (rhetorical but you get what I'm saying). Because if you talk about a player generating 0 points, we also have to talk about the miss kick that would have put up points when "it mattered." That's all I'm saying.
