Man let me tell ya I will be at the theater for this but there is no way this can live up to my expectations. I am going to be disappointed. Eddie Murphy was a god to me as a kid. There was no one funnier walking the planet as far as I am concerned.
And can anyone explain what happened to him? It was like someone turned off the switch when he did Harlem Nights in 1989 and he completely forgot how to be funny on camera. Hasn't been in a live action film since then where he was funny. Donkey in Shrek was a breath of fresh air, but then that turned stale very fast, too. I can't count that against him, though, he wasn't writing the scripts of those sequels.
