Derek Carr practiced today.

Also, practicing after a concussion is normal. It’s non-contact and symptoms usually go away quickly.

He still has to pass protocol on Sunday morning.
Im neither Pro-Carr or Anti-Carr (well maybe a little pro-Carr). But that Concussion Protocol doesnt mate up with any of my concussion training (as a coach).

Only a medical physician can clear someone from a concussion and the alacrity of his return gives me great questions about our medical staff.

My understanding is typically you have to keep your work rate down or non-existent (even in non-contact training). Being in great athletic shape or feeling great really should have no bearing on how you respond to a concussion. Avoiding mental strain is also important in concussion recovery. I cant imagine how going through pass progressions or studying film can be a healthy part of concussion recovery.

Perhaps he has done enough to meet NFL protocol requirements, but that merely suggests that the NFL protocol is a checkbox with no purpose.
