Derek Carr - Why People Dislike Him (IMO)

That is the best case scenario though. We don't have a good HC/OC so that part doesn't matter. His prior HCs and OCs don't matter either. If everything has to be perfect for him to succeed then we aren't the team for him. I'm not sure what team is. That is why it isn't good practice to sign QBs that need to be elevated by others. We need to start drafting QBs early and often until we find one that elevates everyone else.
Prior HC's and OC's do matter. HC/OC may be the biggest part of a successful offense. Look at Shanahan. He has success with JG and now with Purdy a last pick in the draft. . Look at what Johnson did with Goff, What Waldron did for Geno Smith. Not saying everything has to be perfect for DC to return to or be even better than he was in OAK/LV . But you can't have a coaching staff as bad as ours and expect much good to happen pretty much whoever is @QB. Really, can you name a coaching staff as bad or worse than ours?
