Dennis Allen on Graham being inactive earlier in the season: “Let’s start focusing on what we need to do moving forward"

He's not a great motivator is what you're looking for. And I'd have to agree but that doesn't mean you can't build around his other strengths. For Allen, I think he needs an OC/Assitant HC that has a bit more bite. It's all about the structure of a team and do you have the right components functioning around the HC. While it makes sense to tear it down, it also financially doesn't. I mean you could be the raiders if you want, but I think with age comes wisdom and Loomis has learned to be patient.

You must marry DA with the right OC/Assistant HC. That's an easier move than trying to bring in a new staff ground up and expect it to work in year 1 or even 2. At least with the noted option if you get it right you can see it pay immediate dividends in 2024
One doesn't have to be a rah rah type coach to be successful but he obviously lacks in other parts of leadership such as providing direction to his coaches or ensuring the correct personnel are suited up based on what he wants as the HC.

Agreed 100% that DA needs a a stronger personality as his OC, but that also takes someone with confidence (dare I say cockiness). Both, from an OC and from the HC. Do you think DA would accept a younger version of Sean Payton or a Dan Campbell? I think he likes the idea of having that person but actually having that person on the team would burn him up. It's almost as if he suffers from professional low self-esteem which leads me to my next point.

Agreed about complimentary coaches and it appears DA assembled a staff with personalities similar to his personality.

Being that you mentioned Loomis, he is the root of the problem. From the contracts he has weighed this team down with to the FAs he let walk while bringing on aged veterans, he should have went outside the building when Payton left.

As for the two courses of action (keep and modify the staff or burn it down and start anew)- I choose the latter as the payoff could be better in the long run. That being said, I don't see the next coach winning with how the team is currently structured both from a personnel position and financial position.
