Brees was so good in San Diego that they spent a first overall to bring in a replacement. Without Payton, I do not think Drew becomes a Hall of Famer. Talented guy, but you need the right coach to make it work. It was a symbiotic relationship. Sean crafted a system uniquely for Brees that matched his strengths and masked his few weaknesses. He built the OL specifically for Brees and his pocket manipulation capabilities.
