His head bounced off the turf, and after extending his arms he put his right hand up to his head.
My guess is it was that motion (hand to head) that triggered the booth spotters (UNC and AT) to call a medical timeout and sideline eval.
Now as I read it, assuming the Giants didn't want to use the timeout, the clock and pkayclock should have restarted - shiete I read too much and now forget the deets - but I believe clocks should have started once the player was off the field and the ball spotted. I'm not sure if that happened.
