Marcus Davenport - Vikings $13 Million Star Lacks Desire

Can't feel bad for the Vikings, their fans are air heads. Curious what type of "deal" Davenport gets in 2024? You figure that somebody will offer him a contract of some sort. NFL Vet Minimum or something with some real money. My guess is a couple of million from some crazy team.

OverTheCap still has us as getting three comp picks, all in the 5th round. One each for Onyemata, Davenport and Elliss.

The Comp Pick Formula is complicated, to say the least, but they do a pretty good job of laying out the players and the way it works. Davenport (because of salary) and Elliss (because of snaps and salary) are pretty solidly in the 5th round range right now. Onyemata is towards the top end of the 5th round range and he could get into 4th round territory, but it is unlikely.

Thanks I was wondering if the 5’th round comp was going to drop even further.

Yes no doubt he will again find another team that will gamble on his “potential”. At the end of the day though, nobody’s losing more on him than the Saints did. I suppose every teams got there faux pas they can torture themselves about.

With how many of our guys sign with Atlanta, at first I was thinking that might be his next stop, but Ryan Nielsen probably knows better. I think he will sign for more than the league minimum, but if he goes that low maybe Sean Payton might bite again. Who knows!
