Surprised to see that the Saints are still mathematically in it

So listening to Ross Jackson on Locked On Saints, he mentioned the scenarios that could get us in a a wildcard.

In the scenario where the Saints beat Tampa, we also need Pittsburgh and/or NYG to win. If we get one (or better yet, both) of those teams to win, there are scenarios the following week where if the Panthers lose to Tampa, there are outcomes where the Saints back in a a wildcard assuming they beat Atlanta.

Losing to Tampa, no playoffs period.
Since we’ve lost to the Packers, Vikings and Rams - all teams ahead of us currently - we would have to have:
Vikings lose out and finish 8-9.
The Packers to lose at least one more and finish 8-9
Also one of either the Rams or Seahawks to lose out and finish 8-9.

If the Saints were to beat the Bucs - it would still take a small miracle for them to make the post season consisting of the Saints beating the Falcons and then the Panthers beating the Bucs - or one of the wacky scenarios to back into a wildcard.

Also keep in mind that the above teams we need to lose out don’t have very tough opponents left of the schedule.

It’s essentially over.
