Until his passing, that one location was still owned personally by Al Copeland. All other Popeye's locations were franchised.
I wonder if that location is still in the Copeland family?
Back in the '80s, Copelans used to try out a lot of new Popeye's concepts at the Trans/W. Esp store -- chicken nuggets (smoked the then-new Mickey D nuggets), Popeye's breakfast (ahead of its time, so good), Popeye's delivery. The one thing it never tried out was the Popeye's buffet concept (RIP).
