Alvin Kamara to the Chiefs...?

Not one running back on the Chiefs roster comes any where near the talent that Kamara is
I don't disagree with that on the surface, however, one must consider the now, the yesterday, and the future. Kamara is nearing the dreaded 30-year-old RB cliff and carries a hefty salary. In the Saints current situation they may be best to get trade value while they can, whether it be this year or next.

Pacheco has averaged 4.6 yards per carry in 2023 and is only 65 yards shy of hitting the 1,000 yards rushing mark in 2023. He's averaging 5.5 yards per on 44 receptions in 2023. He's not the dual threat of AK41 but he is a tough, solid, fast RB who ran a 4.37 forty at the combine.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire is a smaller compact RB who is more than just a scatback but he does excell in the passing game where he's averaged 11.2 yards per reception in 2023.

Let's face it. It wouldn't matter if the Chiefs had a Derrick Henry or an Alvin Kamara. The RB won't be the featured player in an offense that has Mahomes under center.

Kamara is averaging 3.9 yards per carry and has 694 yards rushing in 2023. He has never rushed for a 1,000 yards or more in his 7 year career. He ran a 4.56 yard forty yard dash at the combine. His game was never about pure speed. It's been about sudden quickness and bursts, with the ability to make defenders miss in the open field and having the balance to break tackles and pick up yards after contact. He hasn't been able to do that in 2023 like he did in years past. His yards per reception at 6.2 per is the lowest of his career.

I love me some AK41 but I think his best days as a Saint are in the past. The team may be better getting while the getting is good instead of waiting for the tires to go flat. just my 2 cents.
