Saints 1st pick 2024

I'm sure with Ram having to retire, they'll be salivating over Joe Alt and Olumuyiwa Fashanu, but no way either of them will be available. Don't be shocked to to see them pick Amarius Mims out of Georgia (or JC Latham out of Bama if Mims is gone) if they stay at 14.

As for QB, I don't any of the ones that wow the FO (and us fans) will be available, either (basically JD 5 and Williams). If Drake Maye's stock continues to be as high as it is, one of them might drop enough to trade up for, but I doubt it. After those two, I don't think I'd take a QB at 14. I think Penix just played himself out of being a top 15 pick, maybe even played himself right out of the first round. Bo Nix is a big no for me, nor would I pick McCarthy anywhere in the first round. I can see using maybe a second, certainly a third on him, but he is a project. I wouldn't pick Nix, period.

As for WR, I think with Olave, Shaheed, and Perry, the OT, EDGE rusher, and LB positions are bigger needs so unless Odunze or Nabers miraculously fell that far, I can't see them using the pick for that position.

Of course, people will move up and down between now and then, but right now, I expect the pick to be either Mims, Latham, or Jared Verse from Florida State. Those are relatively safe picks at positions we need.

As long as they don't trade up for Drake Maye or some OT no one has ever heard of...
