I guess it’s a matter of expectations and perspective. For 18 weeks I watched my Saints play. I took a break from bills, work, etc to be entertained. I planned food and cooking around each game. Every game was me, my parents, my brothers and their wives having a short video chat before each game and doing a shot together.

To me that’s what I wanted. Winning a division, playoffs, super bowl is all lagniappe.

When I look back on 2009 I really don’t remember a lot of the games. I remember some great moments. I remember starting our tradition of doing shots together before every game.

I remember the playoff parties that at the time I did not want. I just wanted to be alone and watch the game. I remember my wife trying to explain to me that they just wanted to be part of the experience.

I remember the explosion of cheers when we beat the Vikings. And the tears when we won. My priest showed up around 10:30 just to hug me and say congrats.

I remember all that but the games themselves not too much.

You remember a Super Bowl winning season. Semper, I'm with you. You didn't pick 2008 season or the 2012 season for a reason. At least then, when the Saints had a coach you believed in you could hope for better years. But you still didn't retell those seasons because those seasons aren't memorable.

Keeping DA is tying the Saints to another unremarkable season without even the hope of improvement.

You enjoyed the 2009 season...yeah me too, buddy.
