When you run out of a victory formation, it's already public. It's something DA had to address. Besides just the players and fans, DA is responsible to the owner and his boss. And the negative press wasn't good for the Saints. And ultimately the NFL is an entertainment sport, and that negative press could cost the Saints money, not to mention more ire from the NFL.
As Graham said, they didn't think it would be a big deal, and I'm sure that's how it's treated internally. Because it isn't.
