I canceled direcTV a few month ago after having them for 15 years. It was like an interrogation with a spot light shining down on me when I tried to cancel. I think I finally said I DONT WANT TO BE YOUR CUSTOMER ANYMORE IF YOU CAN MAKE THAT HAPPEN!!
I find abhorrent that you can sign up for their premium channels from their webpage but you cannot downgrade ANYTHING without having to call and go through multiple options BEFORE you even reach the INTERROGATION level!
