Payton followed the Parcells mold and looked for players who loved football, those are the guys who are going to put in the work and won't be swayed as much by the week-to-week results. Maybe we've gotten away from that, we certainly looked unprepared at times and players (Kamara) suggested we had guys on the team that weren't putting in the work needed.

What it ignores is that the Heat intentionally seek out players who are willing to live in the gym. They provide nonstop training if players are willing to use it. But they put an enormous premium on players who will spend hours there.
