Mickey Loomis’ End Of Year Press Conference

After listening to that press conference, my key takeaway was Loomis admitting that maybe the organization had become a little too comfortable in the last few years and that was why he needed to privately speak to the team to make things "uncomfortable". And that is even with acknowledging that DA spoke to the team also.

That tells me that Loomis knows DA does not have full command (nor maybe full respect) of the locker room and he thought he needed to step in and say something additionally. It is a shame that Loomis doesn't seem to acknowledge that very need as a weakness of his current head coach.

Ultimately, I think Loomis is actually too comfortable and does not feel the urgency to make any big changes. He knows the season ticket sellouts are likely to continue regardless of the product on the field. And, while we may have more visiting fans in the dome if the Saints continue to underperform, the same $$$ still flows in.
