Falcons Have Second Interview With Bill Belichick (Now Likely To Be Falcons HC)

Draft Chart values are nowhere near fantasy, unless you are looking at the top pick, or maybe the top couple of picks. I put the chart values up there to show that the Falcons have the ammo to move up. (It take a willing trade partner. I don't know if any of the top 3 are interested in trading this year.) Moving from 9 to 1 last year was a huge jump and the Bears had no idea they would get #1 overall this year, it could have been in the mid teens, but the Panthers were terrible. At pick #1 in a pre-draft trade, you 100% guarantee that you get your guy.

Moving from #8 to #3 or #4 is not nearly as big of a jump if it is done on draft day. I doubt they pull off a pre-draft trade unless they think they are ok with any of the top 3 QB's and they try to get to #3. I think a pre-draft trade takes much more than a draft in progress trade.

Getting to #3, they probably would have to give up, #8 overall, their 2025 first round pick and probably a third round pick this year. But it takes a team willing to trade.

The first pick overall is a monster pick, you have 100% complete control. Teams overpay for that pick, they rarely overpay for pick #4, 5, 6, etc overall, especially if they have pick #8. Trading up from the mid teens to the top five is very costly because of the chart. If you take out the very top couple of picks every year, the draft trade chart holds up pretty well. It is only when a team is jumping up for a QB that they overpay if they are trying to get to picks #1, #2 and usually #3.

It is. It's mostly for fan speculation. I think it would cost more than their 1, 3, and 1 next year. But you have to have a willing trade partner and I don't think they'll have that in the top three unless the Bears decide to go with Fields. Then you're talking about trading up to #1 and looking at what the Panthers gave up last year.
