I thought Cleveland went 2-14 in 1990 the year before Modell hired him for a long, difficult, and ultimately unsuccessful rebuild in 1991. He also traded away a still-viable Bernie Kosar midway through the 1993 season, and defended the trade as Kosar having "diminishing physical skills" even though Bernie was only 29 at the time. This was also the same Pro Bowl QB who led Browns to three AFCCG appearances in the mid-late 80's and if it weren't for two back-to-back heart-breaking losses, plus some bad, late in-game coaching by Marty Schottenheimer, Browns wouldve appeared in Super Bowls XXI and XXII.
