Peter King’s comments on Jalen Hurts

Listening to King’s latest podcast, I was surprised to hear him talk about why Hurts is in his opinion no longer head and shoulders better than any QB not named Mahomes. He said watching the Tampa game, when his team needed a spark, Hurts just sat there on the bench. King then said, “He‘s the most passive leader you’ve ever seen.” Oof. You can criticize a lot about Derek Carr, but at least he doesn’t have this problem, at all.
There was a play last week where Philly was close to its end zone - it was a run and I think there was a run blitz- all Hurts had to do was get in front of rusher and his RB at least makes it back to line
Instead he touches the rusher like he’s got cooties resulting in a 3yd loss

That being said, we’re well passed the ‘qb needs to be a barking dog’ era
