The Bears, as hard as it is to believe, are in a tough division. Detroit in Championship Game, Packers got really close and the Vikings are not that bad. NFC South looks like a cakewalk compared to that.
I also think that cost of living has to factor in a little bit for somebody like an Offensive Coordinator or position coach. New Orleans is WAY cheaper to live than Chicago, Atlanta, San Diego and Nashville. The only NFL cities that might be cheaper are Buffalo, Cincinnati, Detroit and Green Bay.
I don't think cost of living is a huge factor, but it might be for some people.
I've seen some estimates that coordinators make about $1 million per year.
