I don't think they ever used Taysom to his full potential but at the same time, I think using him tends to break of any rhythm an offense has. There were many times that there was no rhythm and he was all the offense they did have, but I just wonder if always having to find a way to get him involved in ways that are outside of the overall offense scheme hurts the play calling and rhythm on offense. Payton mostly did it successfully but even he seemed to struggle with it sometimes.
Plus, although it forces defenses to use their time time practice against his plays, your offense also has to spend time in practice and camp learning all the Taysom plays instead of getting down the rest of the offense.
So, I could see an new OC not wanting to work him in as a QB consistently and only using it as a surprise. Maybe they want to just use him as an offensive weapon in the run/pass game, but at his salary and age, I'm not sure it is worth it at this point.
