Ronald Curry interviewed for Saints Offensive Coordinator

I do not see these as valid reasons.

1.) Your job as the QB Coach is not to design and call plays, so his idea of how to run an offense could be vastly different than that of PC but Curry job is to support and disseminate information to the QB about the best way to execute the offense in terms of what he is seeing out on the field (in the QB room and on the sideline), the Lions of now up for a head coaching gig was the QB coach before Campbell fired the OC and promoted him and he brought his ideas and adjustments to the offense (in season) and their offense has been clicking and top 5 the last two seasons.

2.) Curry (IMHO) was not "tasked" with being the OC at the Senior Bowl it was just and exercise for position coaches to take on a bigger role and what better time to do it than in the offseason teaching and college athletes who are auditioning to become professional athletes, not exactly a ringing endorsement of his capabilities as an OC just an opportunity to hold the call sheet.

Curry should be receiving OC interviews like the rest of these TE, QB coaches and Passing Game Coordinators around the league but he is not, he may not be ready but the Saints think a lot of him as a member of the staff, but not enough to run their offense.
Regardless if someone is only a position coach, he could alert the OC/HC of some things that he sees that isn’t working. It’s not like he is ordered to keep his mouth shut. Also, Curry is a huge part in the passing game coordination. So, it doesn’t matter if he’s not calling the plays, he is directly linked to our passing game plans every week. Going further, like I said, if the HC can see something in his position coach, when his OC is NOT getting the job done, then there should be no hesitation to get rid of the dead weight, and try something new. We went 30 straight weeks of inept offensive production, yet still didn’t try to make changes, or give someone else a shot. Do you realize that 30 weeks is almost the equivalent of 2 full seasons? 🦌 was more than willing to die on an outdated system, rather than give Curry the opportunity, as he stated that he was not going to make any changes, and continue to chop wood.
Btw, your downplaying of being an OC at a Senior Bowl is off target. Those slots are set up for teams to get exposure to players, scout players, and gain them experience of actually calling plays. Those OCs typically tend to be names that will be interviewed for potential OC gigs. So let’s not act like it’s some random exercise that has no relevance in their respective careers. Do you know that the Senior Bowl is the nation’s most prestigious college all-star game? Why??? Bc it’s coached by professional coaches.
