Are The Bucs Better Than They Are Perceived To Be?

I think the Bucs way overachieved this season. So no, they aren't really better than they are perceived to be. They used the same strategy as the Saints did with Drew, but succeeded in getting their Super Bowl with Brady. This year they were quick eat the $70 million in dead cap and reset after Brady retired. They probably have a tiny bit more cleaning up to do, but are way further over the hump than we are. They still have some good players and now have a bit of cap space to start really improving going forward. I think their fans will appreciate the soft landing the front office was able to orchestrate after giving them a championship.
