I Don't Think Many People Want Our OC Position

What doesn’t hold up to any historical scrutiny? You’re missing my point. Nobody is saying no-one wants the job, we’re saying it’s unattractive to candidates getting multiple interviews which is absolutely a fair assessment.

There’s a reason Pete Carmichael was still OC this season and it’s not because Allen or Loomis really wanted him to stay.

The reason PC kept the OC job this year is because DA identified 3 guys last year that he thought were better options than PC. When he could not get those 3 guys he went back to PC. It was not a comprehensive search it was very limited to 3 guys.

3 guys turning it down is not the same as it being an unattractive job. That's especially so when last year when those guys turned down the job, we had no QB, Shaheed had no fully emerged, and there was not A.T. Perry. Now we have Carr who is basically a to 10 to 15 guy depending on how good the OC is, it's clear that Shaheed could be a star, it's clear Olave could be a star, and Perry is a high upside developmental prospect. That's a much more attractive opportunity than it was last year.

It's not a top 5 OC job, but it's in the same range as ATL, Car, T.B., Cleveland, and most other jobs that are open except the Chargers. and the Bengals which Pitcher took.
