What doesn’t hold up to any historical scrutiny? You’re missing my point. Nobody is saying no-one wants the job, we’re saying it’s unattractive to candidates getting multiple interviews which is absolutely a fair assessment.
There’s a reason Pete Carmichael was still OC this season and it’s not because Allen or Loomis really wanted him to stay.
We legit might have to hire the 4th or 5th guy on our list. But people keep posting that "no one" wants the job. That's not the same as "we might lose out on some top candidates."
If we miss out on the top guys but end up hiring a good OC, that's okay. If we end up hiring the Steelers OC and he's bad, then that's not okay.
