I don't think the scheme is outdated at all. I'm of the mindset that it takes certain "skill" to run it, as you mentioned but a HoF QB isn't really necessary, as much as actually being able to read the field and throw with anticipation. I believe that CSP will get his QB and work to build the offense around them. Kinda knew that Russ wasn't going to be the best fit, not because of him being washed or anything, but because his skillset really doesn't match a lot of what's needed. But this also shows how CSP and Sneaky Pete are different. I believe that Pete can design the crap out of plays but, as we always talk about, creating plays and calling them are 2 different beast. I think getting back with CSP is a good move for him.
On another note, I believe that "modern offenses" are really just offshoots of college systems meant to be as "QB friendly" as possible, as QB development no longer exist. :shrug:
