Ten 49ers free agents who could follow Klint Kubiak to the Saints

These are the kind of signings that are sneaky-good when introducing a new concept to a team.

The best and most relatable example I can cite for Saints fans was the 2009 signing of Pierson Prioleau. Prioleau was never an all-pro but he’d been on several of Gregg Williams’ teams, following him from Buffalo to Washington to Jacksonville before signing with New Orleans. Removing his ego enough to be teacher-in-pads to some newly-appointed secondary coach and some other newly-signed safety led to the first Super Bowl title: for the team, for Williams, for the secondary coach, for the other free safety, and for Prioleau himself.
