There are a couple of Jason's Deli locations and they're ok and reasonably priced, but a little out of the ways so we don't stop there often.

Anything else I've tried has been pretty terrible.

Same here, actually the Copelands on Rockville pike when it was there (like 20-30 years ago) was really good. They used to have a place around Dupont called Lulu's that was pretty good but long gone now....most places I've been too add way too much cayenne or spice....

I have a friend who sometimes plays gigs there and he is friends with the owner who is from LA.....it's a bit hit and miss there, some things are good others not so much....IMO, definitely worth trying though Dave....
